With more than 20 years of experience in DJing, anything goes in the sets by JD Twitch and JG Wilkes, ranging from techno, early electronic music, no wave, punk, mutant disco, to leftfield rock. Whether it’s residency of the Optimo Espacio night at Sub Club where they put the city on the British clubbing map as an epicentre of underground music or their kaleidoscopic mixes of various musical styles for How To Kill The DJ (Part Two) and Fabric 52, the duo turned what DJing could be like on its head by their sprawling selections through which a convincing coherence ran nonetheless.
Optimo describe their relationship by analogy with “old couple who have been married for 60 years.” With no sign of breakup, the synergistic effect of their mutual skillsets is highly expected as always. Come down and check it out.
