Disco, pop and outernational beats in a celebration of style and substance

Leading LA fashion brand nana-nana has never been afraid to reinvent itself. Last year it rebooted its entire original collection and welcomed new designer Takanohiro Okude into the fold, resulting in a bold line of contemporary designs with practical application as well as aesthetic appeal.

To celebrate 11 years of crisp, playful items and accessories with a wide fan base including celebrities, nana-nana is coming to Contact with a strong cast of selectors for the first time. The music of British singer-songwriter Kindness draws on a palette of disco, pop, indie and classic balladry while tackling issues around gender, sexuality and identity. Having collaborated with Solange, Robyn and Blood Orange, his craft is in demand amongst some of the most progressive minds in the pop world. As well as being an accomplished songwriter, Kindness has formed an equally strong reputation as a DJ with an eclectic heart and conviction in his selections.

He’ll be supported by DJ NA from Nguzunguzu, one of LA’s brightest production outfits spanning grime, kuduro and house music in a dazzlingly modernist fashion. Sapphire Slows, who has releases on “Big Love Records” and “Not Not Fun” will be joined by Kiri from Phire Wire.  On the Contact floor, Mademoiselle Yulia will also champion the crossover between fashion and music. The Tokyo-based style icon splits her time between electro-oriented music and designing for fashion accessory brand GIZA.
