DJ HARVEY 2017 TOUR OF JAPAN

DJ HARVEY来日ツアー決定！初のコンピレーションCDもリリース

ハウス、ディスコ、バレアリック・シーンのカルトリーダー、リエディットの帝王。そして、DJとしてもっとも神の領域に近い男と称されるリヴィング・レジェンド、DJ HARVEY。3年ぶりの来日ツアーが決定した。ツアー日程は、11月17日（金）＠江ノ島OPPA-LAと11月18日（土）＠東京CONTACT、2公演のみのエクスクルーシブな開催となる。

DJ HARVEYは、1980年代半ばのロンドンでDJキャリアをスタート。セカンド・サマー・オブ・ラヴの狂騒の中、「Tonka Sound System」のクルーとして名を馳せ、ニューヨークの伝説的クラブ「Paradise Garage」のレジデントDJであったLarry Levanも出演した自身のパーティー「Moist」で、DJとしての評価を不動のものとする。その後、「Ministry of Sound」のレジデントを経て、2002年にロサンゼルスに移住。LAアンダーグラウンドの聖地として、世界中からハードコアなダンサーたちが集うウェアハウス・パーティー「Harvey Sarcastic Disco」で、レフトフィールドなディスコ、バレアリック復権への大きな流れを作った。2010年にアメリカ国外への渡航が可能になると、世界中からオファーが殺到。奇跡の再来日が実現した2010年GWのジャパンツアーでは、全国12都市を回りロックスター顔負けの1万人以上を動員。母国イギリス・ロンドンでの凱旋パーティーは、チケット発売後わずか1分でソールド・アウトを記録し、世界最高峰のクラブ「Berghain/Panorama Bar」や、世界最大級のフェス「Coachella」などにも出演。ローリングストーン誌では「DJ界のキース・リチャーズ」と評され、「世界に君臨するDJ」トップ10にランクイン。昨夏は、日本を代表する野外音楽フェス「フジロック」20周年記念の大トリを飾っている。

なお、9月29日（金）に、HARVEY自身初となるオフィシャル・コンピレーションCD『The Sound of Mercury Rising Complied with Love by DJ Harvey』がリリースされる。自身主宰のレーベル「Black Cock」から、近年再評価著しいディスコ・リエディットの源流となる傑作を多数リリース。シングル、リミックスのほかに、「Locussolus」、「Map of Africa」、「Wildest Dreams」名義で、3枚のオリジナル・アルバムをリリース。さらに、世界最大の中古音楽市場「Discogs」で、ミックスCDとして史上最高額となる500ドルの値が付けられた歴史的名盤『Sarcastic Study Masters Volume 2』など、6枚のミックスCDを発表してきたHARVEYだが、コンピレーションCDのリリースは今回が初となる。本作は、バレアリック・サウンドが生まれたスペイン・イビサ島のホテル「Pikes Ibiza」で、HARVEYが2015年より毎夏レジデントを務めているパーティー「Mercury Rising」をパッケージ化した作品。毎週月曜の「Mercury Rising」でHARVEYは、サンセットからサンライズまで10時間以上に及ぶロングセットをプレイしてきたが、そこでのグルーヴやバレアリック・フィーリングと共に、3シーズンに渡りフィーチャーしたトラック12曲（1976～2016年の40年間にリリースされたディスコやダンスミュージック）をセレクト、コンパイルしているとのことだ。

ダンスミュージック・シーンの頂点に立ち続ける絶対王者、DJ HARVEY。彼のコンピレーション・アルバムを聴いて、貴重な来日ツアーにぜひ足を運んでいただきたい。

With his first compilation CD release, DJ HARVEY is back on tour

The living legend of house/disco/balearic returns for a Japan tour for the first time in 3 years. An exclusive 2 date tour. 11/17 (Fri.) at Enoshima OPPA-LA, and 11/18 (Sat.) at CONTACT.

DJ HARVEY began his DJ career in the 80’s in London during the period of Second Summer of Love, where he placed his name in the scene as a member of the crew “Tonka Sound System”. He further cemented his reputation with his own night “Moist” where he brought over some of the greatest New York DJs including Larry Levan from the infamous “Paradise Garage”. He moved on to becoming a resident of Ministry of Sound, and in 2002 he made his move to Los Angeles where he started a warehouse party “Harvey Sarcastic Disco”. In 2010, now able to travel outside of America, he started to get offers to play all over the world including Japan where he played in 12 cities during Golden Week in 2010.

DJ Harvey was called The Keith Richards of dance music by Rolling Stone Magazine as they named him one of the top DJ’s that rule the earth. With sold out parties in his home turf London, performances at top clubs such as Berghain/Panorama Bar, Coachella Festival as well as last year’s Fuji Rock Festival for its 20th anniversary, the rock star of dance music is coming back to Japan.

Although he has released singles and remixes, and 3 original albums under his alias Locussolus, Map of Africa, Wildest Dreams, and disco re-edits through his own label “Black Cock”, “The Sound of Mercury Rising Complied with Love by DJ Harvey” which was released 9/29 this year is the first official compilation CD by HARVEY.
