dB is a night focused on electronic music live performances. It cuts through DJ-centered convention, instead offering alternative clubbing moments with both domestic and international distinctive acts. Unlike DJs who select and mix tunes produced by somebody else according to the audience’s vibe, live performances are all about carefully-prepared original sound, bringing producers’ aesthetic to the fore. Juxtaposing distinctive individuals, dB has proved itself to be a place for more impactful musical experience. Featured for its fourth instalment is Kangding Ray, a techno craftsman whose intricate sound design draws on his acoustic engineering background. He is joined by Samuel Kerridge, an avant-garde who connects dots between intense noise and dance floor. Likewise, CRZKNY blends footwork and industrial. As opposed to those brutal ear-piercing approaches, Kakobune’s six-piece acoustic guitar ensemble provides a sublime contrast with immersive watercolor ambient music.
